FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ARLINGTON, VA, October 27, 2026. opsi by GoTab today announced Opsi Restaurant Intelligence, a new generation of its platform that automates everyday work across restaurant purchasing, kitchen operations, and financial management. From capturing invoices and updating recipe costs to calculating prep quantities and recommending orders, the platform helps teams turn operating information into daily action.

Restaurant teams spend hours entering invoices, maintaining spreadsheets, and rebuilding purchasing and prep plans. By connecting those workflows, opsi reduces repetitive work and helps operators make informed decisions about what to buy, prepare, and spend.

“Restaurant teams spend too much of their day moving information between systems and repeating work that should already be done,” said James Passafaro, co-founder of opsi and VP of Restaurant Strategy & Operations at GoTab. “The Opsi Restaurant Intelligence automates more of that work and connects it to the decisions that matter: what to order, how much to prep, what each dish costs, and which bills need attention. That gives operators more time to lead their teams and focus on service.”

Automation from the invoice to the kitchen to the back office.

Opsi Restaurant Intelligence introduces a redesigned interface and a connected set of capabilities:

  • Automated invoice processing and costing. Turn invoices into usable purchasing data and current recipe costs, with AI-assisted capture backed by human review.

  • Predictive purchasing. Anticipate what to order with recommendations informed by expected demand and inventory, helping teams stay ahead of shortages and overbuying.

  • Predictive prep. Give kitchens a clearer plan for what to make and how much, with forecasts that consider sales patterns, weather, and events.

  • Bill pay. Bring invoice approvals and payments into the same workflow, with a clear view of what’s due and what’s been paid.

  • Ask opsi. Get answers from your own operating data, find guidance in team documents, and even develop new recipes through a conversational assistant.

  • Recipes built for professional kitchens. Capture, scale, and cost recipes while keeping preparation standards, allergens, and nutrition information close at hand.

  • Financial and menu intelligence. Bring sales, food cost, labor, and expenses into an operating profit and loss statement (P&L), alongside menu insights that reveal what’s selling and what’s driving profitability.

  • Connected teams and daily execution. Keep teams aligned with scheduled tasks, operating checklists, and automatic follow-ups that help turn standards into consistent daily practice.

  • Multi-location and commissary coordination. Bring purchasing, production, and inventory together across locations, helping growing restaurant groups maintain consistency and control.

Proven in real kitchens.

The launch builds on results operators have already achieved with opsi. Curtis Dettman, director of operations for Pau Hana and Lake & Irving, used it to catch approximately $5,000 in vendor overcharges, enough to cover roughly a full year of the platform’s cost.

“I would have never caught it,” Dettman said. “That was my biggest achievement with opsi so far.”

Customers on opsi also report measurable time savings. Twisted Pin reports 80% less time on manual data work, and Spoon and Stable reports 40% less prep time.

Robert Sulatycky, former head coach of Team USA Bocuse d’Or, said of opsi: “It has brought a level of consistency that frankly we couldn’t have achieved without opsi.”

Keep the tools you already know.

Opsi Restaurant Intelligence connects with platforms including GoTab, Toast, Square, R365, QuickBooks, Xero, and Bill.com, bringing sales, labor, and accounting information into a more connected operation.

GoTab acquired opsi in March 2025, extending its restaurant commerce platform from front-of-house ordering and payments into back-of-house operations and accounting. Opsi co-founders James Passafaro and Matt Luckey remain deeply involved in the product. Passafaro serves as VP of Restaurant Strategy & Operations at GoTab, and Luckey leads opsi’s product and development, including Opsi Restaurant Intelligence.
